How is VIGIL PRO different from a standard CO alarm?

A standard alarm has one job: scream when CO hits 150 ppm. By that point, you've been breathing it for hours. VIGIL PRO shows you the exact PPM level on a live display — from 0 upward — so you see a problem forming and act before it becomes an emergency. It also detects combustible gas leaks. Your standard alarm does neither.

Does it detect natural gas and propane, or just CO?

Both. VIGIL PRO uses two separate sensors — an electrochemical sensor for CO and a catalytic combustion sensor for combustible gases including natural gas, LPG, propane, methane, and butane. One device covers all the major invisible threats in your home.

Will it false-alarm when I cook?

Normal cooking won't trigger it. The gas sensor is calibrated for dangerous concentration levels — not the trace amounts from a gas stove in use. We recommend placing it at least 1.5 meters away from your stove to avoid any sensitivity during heavy cooking.

Where exactly should I place it?

  • CO: At breathing height — eye level or lower, near sleeping areas and fuel-burning appliances
  • Natural gas (lighter than air): High on the wall, near the ceiling, close to the source
  • Best rooms: Bedroom, kitchen, garage, basement — one unit per floor minimum

How many units does my home need?
